Nappies nappies nappies!!

Well Leicestershire's Real Nappy Week is over, I can safely say I've really enjoyed myself! I've met some lovely people all over the county and given myself my monthly nappy fix lol My partner has now impossed a ban on any more nappies for a while as I keep buying them........I can no longer use the excuse 'but my finger slipped' lol!!

Well, I know that Leicestershire County Council have been very busy this week organising events, did you go to one? I started off the week at Thorpe Astley, at the opening of the new community center. I was stunned by how many people turned up! It was a fun day though, I hope I got the message out to some new parents and I came across a rareity......a babywearing Dad! (For those of you who aren't that familiar with babywearing, it's exactly what it says on the tin....you carry your baby in a sling rather than pushchair's it's brilliant for bonding, especially for Dad's who don't always get the chance to bond with baby as much as Mum's do) I was over the moon as I only know a few guy's who will openly carry their babies in a sling, I'm pleased to say Edward's daddy is one of them.
The Dad I met on Saturday was fantastic, he really was very interested in real nappies, as was his partner - so hopefully we'll have some more converts.

I spent the week spreading the word and on Thursday I took Edward along to Leicestershire's Real Nappy Social Evening, it was lovely as a few friends came over from Warickshire with their son to show their love for cloth nappies and I got to meet some other members of the Real Nappy Network, I'm glad I had the nappy buying ban in place though as one of the agents had brought along some Cushie Tushie's (which I adore) that looked gorgeous and had there been no ban I'd have cleared out my bank account lol It was great to see so many people interested in real nappies too.

I've been at Fosse Park with Blaby District Council helping promote real nappies, I was pleased to see so many different people interested, young, old, male and female. It was fantastic! Especially towards the end of the day when we were approached by a couple of young guy's who were really interested and I was stunned to hear one of  them say 'They've got to be better for the babies skin too' The message is getting out there!!!
I'd like to thank Karen and Alana for having me today, not only did we promote real nappies, but we had a lovely chat too :)
